an oily acquaintance of mine called me out of the blue today to ask me if i'd like to join in his game on Labour Day (he's trying to get a group together to play dungeons and dragons). this was ow the conversation went.
Oily friend: hey xoren, i know i don't call and we only meet once a year - would you be interested to join my game?
Me: (brief pause) er.
Oily friend: i promise not to harass you too much; these guys are new lah
Me: uh, sure. tell me more though.
Oily friend: [unnecessary details]..and a girl.
Me: a girl? you mean i'm not the only girl?
Oily friend: no. there's another girl.
Me: (uppity voice) then no. i'm not the only girl there, donch want. (humph)
Oily friend: (immediately) okay i lie - you're the only girl.
